What type of bin do I need ??

The identification of your waste type is normally fairly straight forward. However, it is very important that you choose the correct category as certain waste types are prohibited from being loaded into skip bins and may result in extra charges after the bin has been collected. The table below provides some guidelines but if you are in any doubt at all, please feel free to contact us and one of our friendly representatives will be able to assist you.

GENERAL WASTE

Can place in bin

Household waste, including clothes, toys, paper, kitchenware and etc. Light building waste: dry, untreated timber, dry carpet and etc. Furniture & appliances, including cupboards, lounges, fridges, washing machines and etc. Most General Household Waste.

Can NOT place in bin

Brick, soil, concrete, tiles, dirt, sand/stone, rocks, pebbles etc. Palm tree trunks. Tree trunks & roots. Soil with turf attached. Hazardous materials – asbestos, insulation, liquids, empty chemical containers, food, wet paint tins and etc.

GREEN WASTE

Can place in bin

Light green waste – shrubs, grass clippings & twigs and etc. Small branches, leaves & palm fronds. Woodchips. Tree trunks smaller than 150mm in diameter or/and under 1 meter long.

Can NOT place in bin

Brick, soil, concrete, tiles dirt, sand/stone, rocks, pebbles and etc. Palm tree trunks & large tree roots. Tree trunks larger than 150mm in dameter or over 1 metre long. Hazardous materials – asbestos, insulation, liquids, empty chemical containers, food, wet paint tins.

MIXED HEAVY WASTE

Can place in bin

Waste from building sites or household clean ups including bricks and concrete. Furniture & applicances – cupboards, lounges, fridge and washing machines and etc. Large tree trunks, palm trees, fronds and green waste. Treated timber – retaining walls, decking, floor boards, tiles, dirt, soil and etc.

Can NOT place in bin

Hazardous materials – asbestos, insulation, liquids, empty chemical containers, food, wet paint and etc.
